About this Tour
Yalahau is a breathtaking freshwater spring that many refer to as a cenote. The legend says that ancient Mayans considered it the fountain of youth. Yalahau is also the largest freshwater reservoir in the area. There is a small restaurant (Captains mess), where you can order deliciously fresh deep-fried fish, Ceviche, fish tacos, beer, water, sodas, and fresh coconuts.
Tip “Order your snacks upon arrival” the food is fresh and cooked on the spot.
Bird Island is our birdwatching stop, a tiny island where we will observe all sorts of migratory and local bird species, including egrets, red herons, cormorant ducks, white, grey and brown pelicans, storks, white ibis, roseate spoonbills, ospreys, pink flamingos, amongst many other species from the bird observatory built on the island’s edge.
At Passion Isle we also get off the boat to take a short walk around this tiny isle with a bit of luck we will be welcomed by the iguanas and some crabs. Sometimes this small island is the favorite den of the pink flamingo which arrives on the island between April and October each year.

How long before my tour can I expect to be picked up?
We usually pick you up between 15 and 10 minutes before the tour departure, sometimes on Whale shark tours the pick up can be up to 30 minutes before departure.
The port was closed on the day our boat tour is programmed.
When the Harbor Master closes the port, small boats are not allowed to navigate for the safety of our visitors. Our staff will contact you to offer you an alternative solution.
Do tours include taxi pick up?
Yes, all tours include hotel pick-up, but only private tours and bioluminescence include the return fare.
When can I see the whale shark?
The season starts from June 1st to September 15th.
What are the rules for swimming with the whale shark?
You can download the whale shark regulations here. They can change or update without prior notice.
Is the Whale shark spotting guaranteed?
We offer a whale shark search and encounter adventure tour with these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Last season 97 percent of our expeditions were successful. However, the sea is limitless and sudden changes in underwater ocean currents move plankton from the surface to the bottom, causing sighting not always possible. It is very odd for this to happen.
Will I get my money back if we don’t see the whale sharks?
There are no refunds if we fail to see the Whale Sharks. These sad days are when we go further and spend more time and fuel searching for the whale shark.
